A Concrete Contractor Built for Peel’s Working Buildings
Peel Region is one of Ontario’s largest logistics, warehousing and distribution hubs, with millions of square feet of industrial floor space clustered around Pearson Airport and spread across Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon. Much of that space stays in service around the clock. When a general contractor or facility manager needs to cut, core or scan concrete inside an active distribution centre or food-production plant, the work has to happen without shutting down the line. That is exactly the kind of project Concrete Drilling & Sawing Ltd. (CDS) has handled since 1967. As a concrete contractor serving Peel Region, we bring methods chosen for occupied, sensitive buildings — not just open demolition sites.
Electric Slab Sawing for Occupied Sites in Mississauga and Brampton
Diesel saws are fast and well suited to outdoor and well-ventilated work, but they are the wrong tool inside a running warehouse or food facility. For those environments we use electric slab sawing — low-emission equipment that keeps exhaust out of indoor air, which matters where product, packaging or active production lines are present and where clients have ESG commitments to meet. The same low-emission approach applies to saw cutting concrete for trench drains, equipment pits and floor modifications inside live buildings across Mississauga’s industrial corridors and Brampton’s distribution parks. When a job is outdoors or fully ventilated, we still bring diesel for speed — we match the method to the site, not the other way around.
Core Drilling Through Live Floors and Walls
Renovations and equipment installs in occupied facilities almost always need clean penetrations for new services. Our core drilling crews cut precise openings for electrical, plumbing, HVAC and sprinkler-fitter work through floors and walls without disrupting operations around them. For larger openings and demolition cuts we also offer wall sawing (hydraulic and electric) and wire sawing — diamond-wire cutting for very thick concrete, heavily reinforced sections, embedded steel and hard-to-reach work that conventional saws cannot reach. Where a project calls for taking material out entirely, our concrete removal and concrete demolition services finish the job.
GPR Scanning Before Every Cut
Scan-before-cut is standard practice at CDS. Before we core or saw an occupied floor, our GPR concrete scanning locates rebar, post-tension cables, conduits and voids so nothing critical gets hit. In a Peel distribution or production building, an undetected conduit or pressurized line under a slab can mean an unplanned shutdown — exactly what our clients hire us to avoid. Our GPR / NDT scanning produces detailed reports you can hand to engineers and project managers, and utility locating extends the same approach to site services. We also provide steel cutting, concrete crushing and recycling, and full concrete construction support. CDS also cuts anti-slip concrete grooving into ramps, loading docks and warehouse floors around Peel Region.
Industries We Serve Across Peel Region
Our typical clients are the trades and firms that build, retrofit and maintain Peel’s ICI (industrial, commercial and institutional) buildings:
- General contractors managing warehouse, distribution and food-plant projects
- Engineers and project managers who need documented scanning before structural work
- Electrical, mechanical, and plumbing & pipefitting contractors needing penetrations
- Commercial landscapers and precast concrete manufacturers
- Demolition companies that do not cut or scan their own concrete
